A Mother's Tears

Hey there everyone. So, this would be my first posting on here, cheery ain't it? I've been pretty lazy about actually doing any of the topics that have been listed but I'm gonna try and actually get around to each of them soon! Life is just a bit complicated after college and all and finding my way around the world is much harder than I expected it to be, heh.

The pencil borders around the image are because I'm going to tilt the image once I get to inking and coloring it and posting the finished version over again. I just really wanted to put this up before the time for this topic ran out just so I could have something up on time for once.

For those of you wondering, she turned her newborn baby into gold. She's not crying because she can't hold him/her but because she did and because of that she'll never be able to watch her baby grow up.

I actually hadn't drawn a dog-related illustration in a while, so this was a fun one. shading is half-assed, please ignore.

like Tris I also have a second idea, but that will have to wait.

Touch of Gold

It's still A work in progress. Haven't had time to do anything at all. Recent family news has taken alot away from me, emotionally and physically.
The Story-
This princess of gold walks through the forest turning stuff into gold for the travelers lost at night, The light from the stars and the moon bounces off the gold to guide them out to where they want to go. (apples and pine cones ect. acts like lanterns ...whateva..) She Plugs her headphones into the earth to hear the cries for help within the forest and to help her forest family with anything they need.

Side note.... She should of been barefoot. Nakedness may represent her oneness with the forest, as for everything in the forest is bare also. Or she likes to be naked. Who knows....(p.s. i didn't want to design any clothes. I simply couldn't think of any)

Can't wait to finish...my digital painting skills suck....I can do anything traditionally but digitally...hmmm...every challenge on this site will be dedicated to getting better at digital painting. I made up my mind........

This is my submission for both Asian Monsters and Everything I touch is gold.

Am I proud of this illustration? No.

Have I been pressed for time and thus rushed this piece just to keep up cause I felt bad? Yes.

Will I make up for this in my next submission? Hope so.

Here is my submission for the topic "Everything I Touch Turns to Gold". Simply put, a cowboy learns about the obvious problems that come with the Midas Touch. It was drawn roughly on paper and cleaned and colored in PS. I'm planning another submission for this topic as well, and now I of course have to do it.

Hi! So I finally got a chance to do a drawing for this month's theme! yay!
So here it is. ta-da!

This is the sketch for the " Everything i touch is gold"

I found time to get my idea out on something Thank goodness i found some breathing time. If you can't see it, She is in the middle of a tree that is turning into gold as well as the apples on the ground. My idea was the whole golden apple thingie-ma-bob of a story, So she is the goddess of the golden apples. Don't ask me why she has headphones on. Maybe to hear the whispers from the earth like those stethoscopes doctors wear... that cold miserable plate they put on your chest(sigh i hate those things)Whateva......anyway i'm trying to catch up with all of the ideas posted on the tonight we draw Forum!!!
